How it works

Three quiet steps, instead of forty-seven open tabs.

Estate administration is really one long checklist that no one hands you. LastingPath builds that checklist for your specific situation, then stays beside you through every form.

STEP 01

Answer a few questions

A calm, 90-second check about the estate — a home, a bank account, a business, dependents. No jargon, no logins.

~90 sec · nothing to install

STEP 02

Get your personal checklist

We show you exactly which forms apply to you and which don't — in the right order, with deadlines and what each one is actually for.

Only what applies

STEP 03

Complete each form, guided

Plain-language wizards fill in the paperwork with you — SS-4, SSA survivor benefits, probate, final taxes — one field at a time, saved as you go.

Coverage

47 forms. One at a time.

The government, the courts, the banks, and the IRS each want something different. Here is a sample of what LastingPath prepares alongside you — with the right form number, every time.

Story Prompt

What did Grandma's kitchen smell like after school?

Memory Card

The House on Maple Street

“The kitchen was the center of everything. Cinnamon cookies before we even got off the bus, the screen door slamming behind us, flour on her apron. She never measured anything — she just knew.”

If you remember me, remember this…

  • The smell of cinnamon meant she was thinking of us
  • She never needed a recipe — cooking was intuition
  • The kitchen was where every important conversation happened

Built for a hard time

Built to be worthy of your trust

What you can count on, in plain terms.

Encrypted by default

Sensitive details like Social Security numbers are encrypted with AES-256 before they touch the database. Your family’s data is never sold.

You stay in control

We prepare the paperwork — you review, sign, and file every form. Nothing is submitted to any agency or institution without you.

A complete audit trail

Every document, letter, and action on the estate is logged with a timestamp, so you can show your work to the court and to family.

Honest about what we are

LastingPath is not a law firm. We provide document preparation and step-by-step guidance — and we tell you plainly when a situation calls for an attorney.

The hardest part wasn't the grief. It was not knowing what I was supposed to do next, or who was allowed to tell me.

A common sentiment we heard from families — and the reason LastingPath exists.

Questions families ask us first.

If something here isn’t clear, that’s on us to fix. Everything you need to know before getting started.

Legacy Sage

Legacy Sage is an AI-powered life story interviewer. It captures your family’s memories through gentle guided conversations on the web — and transforms them into beautiful Memory Cards that your family can read, share, and treasure forever.

A Memory Card is a beautifully written first-person narrative generated from your storytelling session. It includes a title, a 150–250 word story in the storyteller’s voice, and three “remember this” highlights. Think of it as a page from a memoir that writes itself.

Once a week, Sage emails one warm question. The storyteller clicks through and answers in a gentle web conversation — Sage asks one follow-up to deepen the story, then turns it into a Memory Card. The whole thing takes about 3 minutes.

Wisdom Capsules are special messages the storyteller creates for specific family members — recipes, advice letters, milestone messages (“open on your wedding day”), or family secrets. They can be sealed and delivered at the right moment.

Yes. Family members can view stories, react to Memory Cards, and suggest questions for Sage to ask. Everyone sees the Living Archive grow week by week.

It’s a free 90-second quiz that reveals how much of your family’s story is already at risk of being lost. Most families score 3 out of 8. It’s eye-opening — and it’s the first step toward preserving what matters.

This is what makes LastingPath unique. Legacy Sage subscribers can activate estate administration with one click. All family data is already known — Sage transitions seamlessly from story preservation to helping with the 47+ legal and financial forms required after a death. Legacy subscribers get 30% off.

Estate Administration

No. All plans are one-time payments. Pay once and get full access — no recurring charges.

Sage is your AI estate co-pilot, available 24/7 with the Family + Support plan and above. You can ask Sage anything about your estate — deadlines, next steps, legal terminology, filing requirements. Sage also powers the Letter Writer (generates professional letters to banks, creditors, and agencies) and the Creditor Shield (analyzes statute of limitations on debts). All AI features are powered by advanced language models with deep knowledge of estate administration processes across all 50 states.

Your deceased loved one's SSN, if provided, is stored securely in our database, protected by row-level security policies. It is only used to pre-fill government forms and is never shared with third parties. Your own SSN as the executor is never saved — you enter it only when generating a form, and it is not kept after you leave the page. All data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest via Supabase's managed encryption.

LastingPath is for family members, executors, and estate administrators handling affairs after a loved one's death. Most users are adult children or spouses managing an estate for the first time.

We cover 35+ legal forms and guided wizard tools — from notifying Social Security and the IRS to closing financial accounts, transferring vehicles, and filing the final tax return. Plus estate tools like the Estate Ledger, court-ready reports, legal audit trail, and automated outreach to institutions.

Yes. Your checklist and progress are saved to your account. Sign back in any time to continue. Your wizard progress auto-saves as you go.

Asset Discovery (Concierge plan only) uses Plaid to securely connect to 20,000+ US financial institutions and auto-discover bank accounts, investment accounts, and other financial assets associated with the estate. This can help you discover accounts and assets you might not know about.

The Concierge plan is ideal if you want Asset Discovery (hidden bank account detection via Plaid), AI-powered form review and guidance, dedicated onboarding support, and email support. It includes full access to all current and future tools.
